Today we met Pia Meister and her two children Toni and Max at the beach. Sweet jump Toni!
Aaron and Pia really enjoyed finding snails and shells together.

In May my mom flew to TX from FL and then flew with Aaron, Audrey and myself to TN for my father's family reunion in Sewanee, TN. I'm sure I wouldn't have been able to make the trip if not for her! Harvey flew to TN with a student for a weekend cross country, allowing him to be a part of the family reunion also (poor student)! Here my sister, Rachael, and I are being well, sisters :-)
One of the very few pictures of me and the kids. We were at the late Great-grandparents house where Dot grew up. The hammock was a hit, with the kids at least. 
Here is Harvey and Audrey at the Cross in Sewanee. You can see it for miles as it is on the mountain. This cross is dedicated to all the service men and women from Sewanee who gave their lives for their country.

This seems to be Audrey's favorite place these days, the bathroom stool. She loves to talk to herself, wash her hands, brush her teeth, whatever. In this picture, she was admiring the hat that came with her outfit!
This Father's Day, we decided to drive down to a local pier and walk down it. Aaron brought along his fishing pole just in case. Audrey was styling in her princess sunglasses. 
Aaron's pole wasn't water ready but a very kind young man offered his pole and bait so that Aaron could fish. 
He had a great time fishing with daddy. I can't tell who had the biggest smile!

I ran the 4th leg of the Beach to Bay Relay Marathon on 17 May 08. It was the longest leg at 4.8 miles (I didn't know that when I signed up)! I wanted to run this leg as it was on the military base and Harvey and the kids could come and see me more easily. I'm the one in the red hat in the middle of the picture.
Our squadron had three teams, one active duty and two spouse teams. Our team did it in 4:40. We finished 1152nd out of 1705 teams. I ran my leg in 48 minutes. If we are here next May, I will definitely sign up to do it again!
Yes, good old Ruger is still with us. 13 1/2 years old and still going.... buy not far. Mainly outside to eat and back into the air conditioning, but hey at his age he's doing great! He loves the kids....for their food more than anything :-)
We attended the Ladybug Release at the Corpus Christi Botanical Gardens in April. Aaron wasn't feeling spectacular but we knew he could get past that once he saw what we were going to do. He LOVED it!! 
The Ladybug lady as we called her had a sack full of millions of ladybugs. She handed them out to any outstretched hand with instructions to sprinkle them all over the flowers and watch them fly off. Check out the couch behind her, it's actually a stone mosiac! We were all fooled by it.
Audrey wasn't entirely thrilled by the ladybugs, but did let me put a few in her hands. She actually enjoyed just sitting next to the flowers watching the ladybugs fly off.
Happy 3rd Birthday Aaron! Aaron loves the Wonder Pets and was so surprised to see this cake (he didn't know about it ahead of time).

Audrey's sign for cold. Anytime she hears the word cold or eats something cold she does this!
Loving the icing on his cake! Aaron's party was so much fun. The kids played outside, in his room, in the bathroom, everywhere!! The highlight was the balloon molding kit. I think that they used up all the balloons by the end of the afternoon.
This Easter also happened to be my 32nd birthday! We had a great cake from Marble Slab-yum!
Check out Audrey's yellow tongue. We're not beneath bribing our kids with Skittles jelly beans for Easter pictures!

On March 8th, our squadron held it's annual children's Easter party at the USO on base. The kids made bunny ears, colored all sorts of Easter pictures and of course went Easter Egg hunting. Aaron found many eggs and Audrey even managed to get a few before the older kids were let loose.
Everytime I see this picture I laugh. I'm not sure what was going through Aaron's mind at the time but boy does it show on his face! He and Maren decided to sit on the steps to better rifle through their loot. They were on such a suger high that Harvey ended up making them both run from one light post to another several times under the guise of a game!
In February, we flew to Florida for a long overdue trip home. It was quite the trip! Aaron loved everything about the airplane, even the emergency manual!! We stayed with Meem and Dot, of course. We spent a lot of time with Aunt Rachael, Uncle Chuck, Brooke and Oscar. We went to Sea World where we had a great time. Both kids actually sat still for the dolphin show. We didn't get to see the Shamu show, but the kids never know that they missed out. 
Audrey didn't need much coaxing to take a little nap, all it took was a little walking around with daddy. Have you ever seen anything as precious as this?? Daddy loves it when baby girl sleeps on him, such a sweet and tender time.
Aaron got to ride his first roller coaster. I don't know that he's a true fan yet, as he told me when it was over that he didn't want to ride it again! We enjoyed our week in Florida and our time with our family!
Happy 1st Birthday Audrey! We had a wonderful birthday party on February 2nd. As you can see, she thoroughly enjoyed the cupcakes! She received many wonderful gifts and had a great time playing with friends!
