New Boots

We went to Academy Sports to looks for bikes for Harvey and I and down one of the isles, Aaron spotted some Crocs boots in pink and blue. He wanted to put them on as did Audrey. They had only one size that fit Aaron perfectly. Audrey didn't care if they were too big, she just liked them. And I liked that they were 50% off!! Needless to say, the boots have been worn well this week, even to church!

Rare Sight

A rare sight in this "Sparkling City on the Bay" as they call Corpus. We finally got some rain, and this was the first of two rainbows. The second could be seen from end to end and was marvelous but we didn't have the camera and we weren't going back to get it as we were fleeing the house to go see a movie (Handcock). We don't get enough of this type of beauty here.....Corpus could really use it :-)

Fishing Worms and New Bikes

We've been fishing a few times recently and I caught a funny picture of Audrey with the rubber worms (actually they are supposed to be shrimp but who's really paying attention to that). Harvey decided one night (at 10pm) to run to the local HEB. He came home with two new bikes. One a two wheeled Thomas bike with trainers and the other a huge Princess trike with a little purse in the front and tassels on the handlebars. Audrey likes to keep several bobbers and rubber shrimp in the little purse on her bike. She sits on the bike and plays with them. Aaron took off on his bike like he's been riding for years and now will ride all over the neighborhood while I push Audrey in the stroller. Maybe I can jog next to him......we'll have to see :-)

4th of July

This 4th of July we decided to take the kids to the watch the fireworks from the sea wall. We found a good spot fairly easily. We sat on a blanket while Aaron talked with his new friend Ethan and Audrey talked to the puppy on her 4th of July t-shirt. The wait for the fireworks to start was a little longer than we had hoped but the kids managed to keep themselves somewhat occupied. They both watched the display with many "oooohhhs" and "aaahhhhhs" and were ready to get in the car and head home directly after the finale. They were tired yet stayed awake the entire ride home, but fell asleep with great ease :-) Happy 4th of July everyone!

Guy Stuff

It definitely seems as though this blog is only about the kids, and for the most part that is what it is all about :-) Harvey just finished putting in a cold air intake in his truck that will improve the gas mileage as well as increase it's horsepower. It took him about an hour to complete and he's been pretty happy about it's performance. Here is a before and after picture (can you believe how dirty the engine was in the first picture?)!
